At the Holy Family Hospital location in Methuen, MV MRI operates a brand new 3.0 Tesla (3T) MRI, the state-of-the-art in Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

While the 3T can certainly perform any MRI exam better and faster than prior generation scanners, it is 3T's advances in the areas of Breast MRI for breast cancer detection and diagnosis, orthopaedics, and neurological and functional MRI that are particularly exciting.

While 3.0T is the gold standard in MRI technology and diagnostic capability, MV MRI understands the critical importance of offering the community a comprehensive continuum of MRI services in order to address every patient's particular needs:

~ In addition to the 3T, MV MRI also operates a 0.7T "Open MRI" at the Holy Family Hospital location. The open MRI scanner is an invaluable option for many patients, particularly those who are claustrophobic, larger in size, or utilizing certain medical devices or equipment (e.g. IV, cardiac monitoring) that might preclude an exam on a more traditional MRI scanner.

~ In 2007, MV MRI installed a 1.5T unit at a brand new office located at 29 Stiles Road in Salem NH. This unit, located in the heart of the Exit 2 / Stiles Road medical campus, offers a great alternative to patients who are unable to travel to Methuen for their exam.
