Urgent Cases Salem Radiology's fully digital network allows you and your staff direct access to
preliminary diagnostic information on an exam performed at any of our locations.
When you require immediate information with respect to a particular patient, please request a
preliminary read from our radiologists by labeling your exam order "STAT" or "WET READ".
Once the exam is completed, a member of our clinical team will ensure that the radiologist's
preliminary diagnosis is either faxed to your office or communicated to your office over the phone.
You should also feel free to call our main office in Salem directly to ensure you get the answer you
need promptly. Responding to your information needs on a timely basis is our business and we welcome
the opportunity to exceed your expectations.
For those cases that are particularly urgent or complex in nature, you should feel free to consult directly
with our radiologists. As outlined elsewhere in this website, our Radiology Practitioner Assistants (RPAs)
Ann Marie Edwards, Terry Licciardi and Peter Messina are an excellent place to start to get fast
resolution to any patient care issues. They are here all day and on call 24/7. While they will be able to
provide assistance to you and your office on a wide range of issues and questions with respect to your patient,
they also have the most direct access to our radiologists. They can be reached by calling the main number in
Salem (603-893-4352) or by calling Salem Advanced CT Imaging (603-898-3129).
Non-Urgent Cases For those exams which are not urgent in nature
(e.g., annual mammography screenings), transcribed reports are typically available within 24 hours.
Our radiologists review the images taken during an exam, consult prior images and/or other related clinical
information, and dictate a report of their findings. Our onsite transcriptionists then type the reports
which are faxed and / or mailed to your office based on your preferences.
Copies of the actual images are also available upon request.
Exams for which we provide preliminary or "STAT" reads follow this same process once the initial results have been communicated
to your office.
Online Access
While not for everyone, Salem Radiology and Salem Advanced CT Imaging offer our referring doctors Web-based access
(via this website) to both images and transcribed reports. Some doctors like to see only the images,
some like only the reports, some like both, some like neither. Regardless of your preferences, this tool
is available to you and your office and comes in two flavors.
BRIT LITE Our simplest Web-based option, BRIT Lite offers a host of basic image manipulation tools along with
the ability to view and print reports. BRIT LITE requires minimal training, is installed through a web link and
can run on minimally configured systems with a high speed Internet connection (256kb or faster).
BRIT WEB VIEWER This option is available for those interested in a more robust option for accessing results.
BRIT Web Viewer offers referring doctors more advanced functionality (e.g. multi-planar reformats and cine) but
it is more complex, requires an onsite install at your home or office and more extensive training.
WEB Viewer is what our radiologists use when accessing images from a remote location.
This option has seemed to work best for those doctors who interact on a fairly regular basis with our clinical staff;
it is like anything in that it's a breeze if it is used every day.
If you have not yet acquired access through either of these options but wish to do so,
please contact Brian Hannon, Director of IT at 603-893-4352 x 225 or at bhannon@salemradnh.com
