One of our jobs is to make life easy for you, your office staff and of course, your patients. You should find our office extremely accommodating in terms of scheduling ~ certainly you should feel free to contact Beverly DuBois, our office manager

As most of our referring physicians know, on any urgent cases, we WILL MAKE ROOM in our schedule to ensure that you and your patients needs are fully met in an expedited manner.

X-Ray (chest, ankle, knee, etc ... )

Patients do not require an appointment for diagnostic x-ray ~ please feel free to simply give an order to your patient to bring to any of our three offices.

Mammography (Annual Screening)

Patients often schedule their own annual screening exams but you may prefer to handle this through your office. If you have specific preferences, again please feel free to contact Beverly DuBois to let us know. Regardless of how these exams get scheduled, we will work closely with your office staff in order to ensure that the "order" is properly documented.

Fluoroscopy, Diagnostic Mammography, Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, Biopsies and other Interventional Procedures

These exams are usually scheduled by your office staff in consultation with the patient (who often is still "standing" right next to your scheduler). Once an exam is scheduled, orders may be faxed to the office where the patient intends to go.

CT Scan

CTs are also usually scheduled by your office staff in consultation with the patient.

As most doctor's offices are well aware, CT exams (along with MRI and PET scans) often require prior authorization from payers' third party utilization management vendors (e.g., NIA, AIM). While the prior authorization needs to be obtained by the referring physicians' office, our staff has been at this for awhile and can certainly help your office navigate the system. MRI and PET Scans

MRI and PET services may be scheduled either by faxing the order forms provided above or by contacting Merrimack Valley MRI or New England PET Imaging directly.

Merrimack Valley MRI
